Captains' call to arms to fill stands of Cbus to help slay Knights

Brittany Breayley-Nati still gets goosebumps every time she thinks about the last time she ran out at Cbus Super Stadium.

And for Tino Fa'suamaleaui, he's always the last Titan out on the field after each home game signing autographs, taking photos and thanking fans because of the love he has for the Legion who show out in numbers for their team each week.

The Gold Coast Titans' captains are rallying the troops ahead of Sunday's massive double header at home, hoping to end the day two from two; much like the outcome both teams shared in the first home game of the year.

Given the tough season the men's team have had throughout 2022 and the fact the skipper missed the drought-breaking victory against Manly a fortnight ago due to the birth of his second daughter, there is a mountain of motivation to chase the W in the club's members appreciation round.

"Our members and fans are so important. It's been tough on them this year and I've been really disappointed that we've let them down a lot," Fa'asuamaleaui shared.

"We just want to get a couple of wins for them and put a smile on their face to end the year, especially given it's our last home game.

"We're going to work hard towards that and make sure that we get that right so we can put a smile on their faces."

There is also plenty of fire in the belly for NRLW leader Breayley-Nati to get play a huge part in her side's first victory of the new season, going down to the Dragons in the opening round last start.

Sending the stands of Cbus into euphoria when overpowering Queensland rivals Brisbane in the club's maiden home game earlier in the year, the Queensland and Australian rake is hoping for the same result when they face off against the Knights.

"Off the back of a win at home from last season against the Broncos, I'm really looking forward to playing back at home," she said.

"This time, we've got the Knights and there's a few ex-Broncos in there, so I'm really excited to rip in this weekend at home."

Hailing from tropical north Queensland, re-living the roars of running out is still quite a special feeling for the captain.

"Being a little country girl from Mackay and then moving down to Brisbane before now calling the Gold Coast home, it was like playing in front of all your friends and family," Breayley-Nati reminisced.

"It still gives me goosebumps thinking about the the game there and the result, so it's quite surreal.

"I can't wait to get out there. It's our first NRLW game under lights too, so that's pretty awesome in itself, so I'm really looking forward to it."

Sitting in the stands to cheer on the Titans the loudest in the twilight time slot will be the men's team after their clash against Newcastle, hoping they can get the win and then show their support to help the club finish with two victories from the night.

"I want our girls to win and I obviously want us to win too," Fa'asuamaleaui said.

"That'll be massive for the fans and the members and they'll leave the stadium with the biggest smile.

"That's the goal from both teams, so hopefully we walk out of there with two victories."
